I created and published this community resource using my freelance communications expertise and local knowledge, managing all aspects of the project including strategy, branding, research, text and visual content, web layout and design, and promotion.

Writing, visuals, and content management for a new website and viewbook. Also trained and mentored staff on use of a new content management system, transitioned the school’s parent newsletter from print to email, and published multiple blog-style articles with outside publications to help position the school as a market leader.

Consultancy with a leading U.S. humanitarian development agency to take and edit photos and video, research and write success stories, and provide text and design for promotional materials. I visited field sites to gather visual materials and conduct interviews, then created a variety of communications products that enhanced organizational visibility internally at HQ and externally with government and donor audiences.

Kenilworth Community History, Washington DC
Lifetime personal effort to advocate for marginalized urban community of color, in the neighborhood where I grew up in the U.S. capital, by highlighting area history, successes, and challenges. Projects include grant-supported booklet of neighborhood history, profiles of community heroes, blogs about area parkland, poetry and op-eds presenting personal viewpoints and experiences, and memoir writing highlighting unique cross-cultural relationships.
